  27. You should be able to do it.  Please read the ckmker.bwr
  28. file that accompanies Mac Kermit 0.991(190).  You will see
  29. there are many shortcomings in the international character-set
  30. support, but it still can be done.

  32. You have to tell Kermit (in the Terminal settings) to allow
  33. 8-bit characters, and you have to select Latin-1 as the
  34. character-set.

  36. The big problem is with entering 8-bit characters.  Since
  37. Mac Kermit's font is not a regular system font, but rather
  38. a built-in one, you can't use Keycaps in the normal way, which
  39. is frustrating.

  41. Nevertheless, you should be able to enter 8-bit characters in
  42. the normal way, provided you have not done anything to the
  43. Alt (Option?) key in the Modifiers dialog of the Key Settings
  44. menu.
